Project Overview & Software Used
Create a logo and can design for a hard seltzer /// Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop
The Process
This assignment was a self-authorship project for the Bachelor of Interactive and Graphic Design capstone course. On top of building our website, resume, business cards, and self brand identity; we had to complete an approved project of our choosing focused around a design interest we would like to do for our future career.

After completing the brand identity assignment Peace Donuts freshman year, I developed an interest in creating logos and brand identities. For my self-authorship assignment I wanted to create a brand but also incorporate an element of packaging. For my project I decided to create a hard seltzer brand and design around a taller can.
As I do for all my projects, I began with the research. I spent a lot of time brainstorming and collecting examples of other designs through Pinterest. Once I decided on a direction I began with the logo and brand colors.
Because a part of the class was about building a social media presence to promote our work, a lot of the progress of this project is shown on my TikTok.

Once I had the logo complete, I began the layout of the cans. I chose a taller can because I felt it fit more of the hard seltzer look and I could space out my elements more. I originally only planned to complete the front of the can, but I decided I needed to complete the entire package so I also created the back and added some written content about the brand.
The repeated soft lines in the background add a visual texture and serve as a way to repeat the water lines that are in the primary logo. The lines also serve as directional interest to turn the can over to the back. The barcode on the back of the can was created from a bar code generator website and when scanned links to my website.

I was able to find free mockups through Behance and added my design to the Photoshop file to present the front and back of the cans.
